  • Delhi / New Delhi Offices: Will observe 17 compulsory Gazetted Holidays (including Republic Day, Independence Day, Mahatma Gandhi's Birthday, Diwali, Eid, Christmas, Buddha Purnima, and others). In addition, employees can choose any 2 Restricted Holidays out of a defined list of 32 occasions.
  • Offices Outside Delhi / New Delhi: Will compulsorily observe 14 national and major festival holidays. Furthermore, three local variable holidays will be selected by the respective Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committees (CGEWCC) in State Capitals from a prescribed list of 12 optional festivals.
  • No Substitute Holidays: If any declared festival holiday happens to fall on a weekly off (Saturday/Sunday) or non-working day, no substitute holiday will be granted.
