National Yoga Olympiad 2026: Complete Summary & Important Links

Overview

The National Yoga Olympiad 2026 is organized by the NCERT on behalf of the Ministry of Education to promote yoga in schools. The event will be conducted entirely online from June 15 to June 18, 2026. Student registration is currently open and will close on June 10, 2026. The olympiad aligns with the National Education Policy 2020 to develop an understanding of yogic practices and promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Eligibility & Stages

Both boys and girls can participate across the following four school stages:

  • Preparatory Stage: Grades III to V (Ages 8-11).
  • Middle Stage: Grades VI to VIII (Ages 11-14).
  • Secondary Stage-I: Grades IX to X (Ages 14-18).
  • Secondary Stage-II: Grades XI to XII (Ages 14-18).

Online Quiz Rules & Procedures

  • Before beginning the quiz, completing the Yoga Pledge and Yoga Song is mandatory for all participants.
  • The quiz consists of 25 multiple-choice questions.
  • Each question carries 4 marks, and there is no negative marking.
  • Participants have a maximum of 48 seconds to answer each question before the system automatically moves to the next one.
  • Creative activities for schools (like painting, essay writing, etc.) should be based on the theme "Yoga for Healthy Ageing".
  • All participants will be able to download a Digital Participation Certificate directly from the portal after completing the quiz.
