The primary objective of this latest PFMS update is to improve overall user management and maintain accurate, location-wise records of PAOs under their respective Ministries and Departments. A new functionality has been integrated into the PFMS software, enabling PAO users to seamlessly add or update their details, such as Email ID, Mobile Number, State, City, and PIN Code. This structural improvement will also help factor State and UT parameters into customized PAO-specific reports.

Important Points & Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

To ensure smooth compliance, the O/o CGA has released a step-by-step Standard Operating Procedure. Here are the crucial points Central Government staff need to follow:

• Single Level Updation: The process of adding or modifying PAO contact and location details is strictly restricted to a single level, which is the PAO User level.
• Navigation Path: PAO Users must log into the PFMS portal and follow this specific path: Masters > Add/Update PAO Details.
• Mandatory Fields: All fields displayed on the update screen are mandatory and must be filled correctly. Essential fields include PAO State, PAO City, Contact Person Name, Email ID, Landline Number, and Mobile Number.
• Confirmation: Upon clicking the 'Save' button, the system will display a success message stating: "Details updated successfully".
• Upcoming Features: A new specific CAM Report titled "MST-05 - PAO Details" is currently under development. Once available, it will allow officials to efficiently review all updated PAO details.

Conclusion

All Principal Chief Controller of Accounts (Pr. CCAs), Chief Controller of Accounts (CCAs), and Controller of Accounts (CAs) are requested to instruct their respective PAO offices to complete this mandatory updation before the stipulated deadline of July 6, 2026.
