Organisation of Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp (BBSC) 2026
Overview and Objectives
In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, CBSE has announced the Bharatiya Bhasha Summer Camp (BBSC) 2026. The initiative aims to promote multilingualism, strengthen national integration, and provide students with joyful, experiential opportunities to learn an Indian language other than their mother tongue.
School-Level Action Points
- Duration: The camp should be conducted for approximately 28 hours (2 hours per day for 7 days).
- Timing: Camps can be held during summer vacations or through weekend/after-school sessions if vacations have ended.
- Language Selection: Schools may choose any Indian language based on student interest, local context, or availability of experts.
- Staffing: A nodal teacher should be appointed to plan the program, supported by other teachers, parents, alumni, and local volunteers.
- Safety: Schools must follow local administration guidelines regarding heat waves and provide adequate drinking water.
- Recognition: Participation certificates will be awarded to both students and resource persons.
Day-wise Activity Schedule

Inclusion of Indian Sign Language (ISL)
In line with the RPwD Act, 2016 and NEP 2020, schools are also encouraged to introduce students to Indian Sign Language (ISL) using resources from NIOS and PM e-Vidya.
