The Vision for Informal Workforce
The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has introduced "NPS Sanchay" to bridge the pension gap for India's informal sector, which constitutes nearly 90% of the workforce. This variant is designed to be simple, reducing the complexities of asset allocation and investment choices for the average citizen.
Eligibility & Compliance
- Age Range: Any Indian citizen aged between 18 and 85 years can apply.
- Registration: Available through Points of Presence (PoP) or online platforms.
- KYC: Mandatory submission of Subscriber Registration Forms (SRF) and requisite documents.
Investment Pattern
- Alignment: Follows the default investment guidelines applicable to Government Sector schemes.
- Availability: Implemented across all Pension Funds registered with the Authority.
- Flexibility: Subscribers retain the option to change their Pension Fund and Asset Allocation.
Withdrawals and Service Charges
The exit and partial withdrawal rules for NPS Sanchay are governed by the existing PFRDA Regulations of 2015. Regarding costs, the charge structure and minimum contribution requirements remain identical to other common NPS schemes like NPS Vatsalya and NPS Lite.
