ICMR Recruitment Update: Withdrawal of Experience Weightage Marks
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has released a significant update regarding the recruitment policy for Technical Posts across its headquarters and various institutes.
What has changed?
Previously, as per the order dated August 11, 2023, candidates applying for technical positions could earn up to 5 bonus marks depending on their years of research, laboratory, or field experience. These marks were added directly to the scores obtained in the Computer Based Test (CBT).
With the issuance of the new Office Memorandum (File No. 16/28/2023-Admn) on May 5, 2026, this system is now canceled.
Impact on Future Recruitments
- Immediate Effect: The withdrawal of these provisions is active starting from May 5, 2026.
- Future Notifications: No future recruitment advertisements for Technical cadre staff will include the provision for experience-based weightage marks.
- Nationwide Scope: This order applies to all ICMR Institutes and Centers across India.
