The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), functioning under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, has issued a new Office Memorandum dated May 25, 2026. Here is a summary of the latest updates regarding employee assessments:

  • The memorandum outlines a further extension for completing the mandatory courses and the Comprehensive Assessment for the 2025-26 reporting year.
  • These directives apply to Central Government Employees as well as Officers of the All India Services (AIS).
  • Previously, via an Office Memorandum dated April 27, 2026, the deadline to finish at least 50% of the prescribed courses and the assessment was set for May 31, 2026.
  • The administration has extended the deadline once more to synchronize it with the revised timeline for submitting Annual Performance Assessment Reports (APARs) to Reporting Officers.
  • New Deadline: Employees and officers now have until June 30, 2026, or until their specific due date for submitting their self-appraisal to their Reporting Officer—whichever date comes earlier—to complete the prescribed mandatory courses and comprehensive assessment.
