Overview

The Department of Expenditure has released the Tables of Benefits for the savings fund under the Central Government Employees Group Insurance Scheme-1980 (CGEGIS-1980) for the period effective from April 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026.

• Interest Rate: Benefits are calculated based on an interest rate of 7.1% per annum, compounded quarterly.
• Calculation Authority: The tables have been worked out by IRDA based on interest rates notified by the Department of Economic Affairs.
• Audit Compliance: These orders were issued in consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India for employees in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department.

Key Benefit Tables

The release includes two distinct categories of benefit tables based on employee subscription history:

Table 1: Standard Subscription

This table applies to employees contributing ₹10 p.m. from Jan 1982 to Dec 1989 and ₹15 p.m. from Jan 1, 1990, onwards.

Table 2: Opted-Out Subscription

This table is for employees who opted out of the revised rate in 1990 and continued contributing ₹10 p.m. throughout their service.
