Level-I Online Examination Pattern

The first tier consists of a school-level online exam lasting 90 minutes with a total of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (400 Marks total). It is divided into two parts:

Section Duration & Questions Syllabus / Coverage Marking Scheme
Section-A 30 Minutes
40 Questions
- Indian Contributions to Science (20 Questions)
- Life Stories of Tri-Shakti: Anna Mani, Asima Chatterjee, and Rohini Godbole (20 Questions)
+4 for correct answers.
No Negative Marking.
Section-B 60 Minutes
60 Questions
- Science and Mathematics from NCERT/State Board Textbooks (Based on respective class VVM syllabus)
- Logic and Reasoning (Open source material)
+4 for correct answers.
-1 penalty for wrong answers.

Crucial Qualifying Rule: Answers for Section-B will only be checked/evaluated if the student secures at least 50% marks (80 or more marks) in Section-A. The final merit list for school rankings will be derived from the cumulative scores across both sections.

Multi-Level Selection Process

  • Level-I (School Level): Top 3 rankers per class become School Winners (if at least 10 students register from the class). The top 25 rankers from each class within a state advance to the next level.
  • Level-II (State Level Camp): A 1 or 2-day workshop focusing on application-oriented tasks, hands-on experiments, and analytical problem-solving. The top 2 winners per class from each state qualify for the grand finale.
  • Level-III (National Camp): A rigorous 2-day camp evaluated through scientific projects, presentation skills, and leadership assessments to select the ultimate National Winners ("Himalayans").

Major Rewards & Prestigious Incentives

  • Bhaskara Scholarship: National Winners ("Himalayans") receive a stipend of ₹2,000/- per month for one full year, distributed quarterly based on assigned projects.
  • Srijan Internship: National and Zonal Winners secure an extensive 1 to 3-week training-cum-internship opportunity at premier research hubs like ISRO, DRDO, CSIR, BARC, IITs, and more.
  • Cash Prizes: National level winners receive cash prizes up to ₹25,000 (1st rank), ₹15,000 (2nd rank), and ₹10,000 (3rd rank). State level winners are awarded up to ₹5,000.
