The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced the release of the curriculum for Classes IX through XII for the upcoming 2026-27 academic session. This curriculum aligns with the vision of the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-2023).

Key Highlights & Dates

  • Classes XI & XII: The curriculum for senior secondary classes was released on April 1, 2026.
  • Classes IX & X: Following the implementation of NCF-2023 recommendations for Class IX, this curriculum is scheduled for release on April 2, 2026.
  • Class IX Changes: A special focus is being placed on Class IX this year as it transitions to the new NCF-2023 study scheme.
  • Educational Focus: The new curriculum emphasizes competency-based education, experiential learning, and the holistic development of students.

Implementation for Schools

  • Schools are required to download the full curriculum documents and share them with all teachers and students immediately.
  • Heads of Institutions have been advised to organize Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to explain the new curriculum features to parents and students.
  • A mandatory webinar for Class IX clarification will be held on April 2, 2026, at 3:00 PM.
