ICMR Hindi Incentive Schemes 2026-2027
Promoting Official Work in Hindi at ICMR Headquarters
The Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has introduced several incentive schemes to encourage officers and employees to conduct their original official work in Hindi. These schemes are applicable for the financial year 2026-2027, starting from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027.
1. ICMR Headquarters Scheme
Participants must write at least 30,000 words in Hindi during the year.

2. Department of Official Language (GoI) Scheme
This scheme follows the guidelines of the Government of India, requiring a minimum of 20,000 words in Hindi.

3. ICMR Technical Scheme
Specifically designed for employees in scientific divisions. A minimum of 5,000 words is required.
- 15 Prizes: ₹2,000 each
- If technical staff are unavailable, these awards may be granted to employees from other sections.
4. Hindi Dictation Incentive
Officers who primarily give dictations in Hindi are eligible for this additional scheme.
- Prize Amount: ₹5,000 each
Eligibility & Guidelines
- Open to all permanent officers and employees of ICMR Headquarters, except those in Hindi-designated posts.
- Eligible work includes note-taking, drafting, register entries, list preparation, accounting, and computer-based Hindi work.
- At the end of the year, participants must submit their work details through their senior/administrative officers to the Hindi Section.
- A committee will evaluate the performance of all participants.
