Dearness Relief (DR) Hike for Central Government Pensioners

Major Update: The President has approved an enhancement of Dearness Relief from the existing rate of 58% to 60% of basic pension/family pension.
- Effective Date: The revised rate is applicable with effect from 01st January, 2026.
- Eligibility: This order applies to all Central Government Pensioners, including those from the Armed Forces, Railways, Civilian Pensioners paid from Defence Service Estimates, and All India Service Pensioners.
- Family Pensioners: The benefit extends to all categories of Family Pensioners.
- Rounding Rule: Any fraction of a rupee in the DR payment will be rounded off to the next higher rupee.
- Disbursement: Pension Disbursing Banks and Accountant General offices are authorized to pay the updated DR immediately without waiting for further instructions.
