Census 2027: The Digital Leap

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has officially shared guidelines for the upcoming Census 2027, emphasizing a shift toward a technology-enabled, transparent data collection process. This national exercise will be conducted in two distinct phases.

Quick Timeline:

  • Phase II (PE): Population Enumeration scheduled for February 2027.

Introducing Self-Enumeration (SE)

  • Step 2: Registration - Enter the Head of Household's name and a 10-digit mobile number.
  • Step 3: Verification - Select your language and verify via OTP.
  • Step 4: Location Details - Provide your District, PIN, and locality info.
  • Step 5: Interactive Mapping - Drag a red marker on a digital map to pinpoint your residence.
  • Step 6: The Questionnaire - Complete the digital Houselisting form.
  • Step 7: Review - Use the "Preview" screen to check for errors before submitting.
  • Step 8: Final Submission - Once submitted, you'll receive an 11-digit SE ID (starting with 'H').
