Subject: Clarification regarding rates of OPD consultation fees as per the new CGHS rate list.
The Competent Authority has approved the forwarding of Office Memorandum No. 11030/168/2025-EHS(8378444) dated 13th January, 2026, issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, to all CSIR Labs, Institutes, and Units for guidance and compliance.
Key Clarifications Issued:
- Super Specialist Consultation: OPD consultation charges at the rate of Rs. 700/- are admissible for consultations provided by Super Specialists (DM/MCh) in all CGHS-empanelled hospitals.
- Eligibility: These rates apply only when the consultation is provided by a Super Specialist holding a recognized DM/MCh qualification in the concerned super-specialty discipline.
- In-patient (IPD) Cases: A maximum of two consultations per day per specialist are admissible as per CGHS norms.
