Mandatory iGOT Training for Sr.AOs and AAOs

New Mandatory iGOT Course Requirements for CCAS Cadre

The Department of Expenditure, under the Ministry of Finance, has issued a fresh directive regarding professional development for the Central Civil Accounts Service (CCAS) cadre. In a memorandum dated February 25, 2026, the O/o Controller General of Accounts has mandated continuous, role-specific capacity building for all Senior Accounts Officers (Sr.AOs) and Assistant Accounts Officers (AAOs).

Key Deadline: While the latest OM focuses on course completion, officials were previously directed to ensure their iGOT Karmayogi profiles were updated with their current designation by September 5, 2025.

Impact on APAR

This is no longer just "optional" learning. The completion of these prescribed courses is now a formal component of the officer's Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR). A new Comprehensive Assessment Framework has been introduced for the 2025-26 reporting period, which corresponds to the 2026-27 APAR cycle. Successful completion of mandated assessments will be reported directly in the APAR.
