Cybersecurity Advisory: Phishing Awareness

The CGDA has issued an Important Circular (No. Mech/ IT&S/810/Cyber Security/Advisory-A) regarding malicious phishing emails currently targeting official IT systems.

Identifying the Threat: Phishing emails are circulating with subject lines such as "Operational Deployment during the year," "Control Room 29 BN," or "Digital Notice Board Solution". These emails often contain password-protected attachments designed to compromise data security.

Mandatory Security Instructions

All officials are advised to exercise extreme caution and strictly adhere to the following protocols:

  • Zero Interaction: Do not open, click, download, or execute any links or attachments from suspicious or unknown sources.
  • No Forwarding: Do not reply to or forward these malicious emails to any other entity.
  • Immediate Reporting: If a suspicious email is received, report it immediately to the Headquarters Office.
  • Incident Mitigation: Any accidental interaction with a phishing link or attachment must be reported without delay. In such cases, change your email password immediately.
