Mandatory Course: Outreach & Communication for Viksit Bharat
The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has issued a new Office Memorandum regarding the mandatory completion of a specialized course on the iGOT Karmayogi platform. This requirement is integrated into the Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR) cycle for senior officers.
Requirement Details
- Course Title: Improving Outreach and Communication for Viksit Bharat
- Target Officers: Deputy Secretary (DS) level up to Special Secretary level.
- Organization Scope: Officers posted in Central Ministries, Departments, and Organizations (MDOs).
Course Overview
Developed by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, this course is designed to sharpen strategic communication skills within government service. It emphasizes several key areas for future governance:
- Augmenting transparency and public trust through effective policy messaging.
- Moving beyond routine announcements to citizen-centric communication.
- Focusing on digital media, visual storytelling, and audience-specific outreach.
APAR Integration
Completion of this course is a mandatory requirement for the APAR Cycle 2025-26. It must be reflected in the individual training plans of all eligible officers. Ministries and Departments are requested to ensure full compliance before the end of the financial year.
