DoPT Circular: Grant of Funds for Modernisation of Departmental Canteens (2026-27)
The Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) has issued an important Office Memorandum regarding the grant of funds for the modernisation of Non-statutory Departmental Canteens located in Central Government Offices.
- Grant Period: Funds will be considered for the next Financial Year 2026-27.
- Selection Basis: Funds will be granted on a "First Cum First Serve" basis.
- Eligibility: Ministries/Departments that have not yet applied or received this grant. (One-time grant only).
- Action Required: Submit proposals immediately with Authorised Controller Code, PAO Code, and DDO details.
Summary of the Order
The DoPT has directed all Ministries and Departments to assess the need for modernisation of the departmental canteens under their administrative control. Proposals must be submitted in accordance with the guidelines laid out in O.M. No. 20/1/2015-Dir.(C) dated 31.07.2015.
It is mandatory to include the following financial details with the proposal:

Note: Departments that have already forwarded proposals or received this grant earlier need not submit the proposal again as this is a one-time grant.
