Will the Minister of Finance be pleased to state:
- a) Whether the Government has issued notification for constitution of 8th Central Pay Commission recently
- b) If so, the details thereof
- c) Whether the Government proposes to merge the existing DA/DR with basic pay as an immediate relief measure for Central Government employees/pensioners facing unprecedented inflation during the last 30 years
- d) If so, the details thereof
- e) If not, the reasons therefor

Answer to Parts (a) & (b):
✅ Yes, Government has notified Resolution dated 03.11.2025 for constitution of the Eighth Central Pay Commission. The Notification is enclosed at Annexure-1.
Answer to Parts (c), (d) & (e):
❌ No proposal regarding merger of the existing Dearness Allowance (DA) with the Basic Pay is under consideration at present.
Current Practice: To adjust the cost of living and protect Basic Pay/Pension from erosion due to inflation, the rates of DA/DR are revised periodically every 6 months based on the All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (AICPI-IW) released by Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour and Employment.

📌 Interim Reports: The Commission may submit interim reports on matters as recommendations are finalized
Commission Authority:
The Commission will devise its own procedure and may appoint Advisors, Institutional Consultants, and Experts as considered necessary. All Ministries, Departments, State Governments, and Service Associations are requested to extend full cooperation and assistance.
