Payment of Composite Allowance to substitute GDS and other GDS (ABPM/Dak Sevak) performing duties of BPM in combination of duties during non-availability of BPMs.
Key Highlights
- The issue addressed the grant of composite allowance to substitute GDS and other GDS (ABPM/Dak Sevak) performing Branch Postmaster (BPM) duties when the regular BPM is unavailable.
- Currently, the composite allowance is paid only to the BPMs. Their substitutes or GDS performing BPM duties temporarily were excluded.
- New Arrangement:
- If a regular BPM works for any part of a month, that BPM gets the full composite allowance for that month.
- If a BPM is off duty for the entire month (leave, unauthorized absence, post vacant, etc.), the substitute ABPM/Dak Sevak/GDS working as BPM will be paid composite allowance on a pro-rata basis for that month. In these cases, the regular BPM does not receive the allowance.
- This directive is effective with the approval of competent authority.
