✅ Eligibility Criteria
Experience Requirements
Minimum 17 years of experience demonstrating capacity in:
- Design, construction, operation and maintenance of generating stations
- Transmission and supply of electricity
- Applied research in the field of electricity
- Applied economics
- Industrial, commercial and financial matters
Position Held Requirements
Candidates must have held:
- Option A: Post of Chief Engineer or equivalent or higher grade on regular basis for at least 3 years under Central Government or State Government
- Option B: Equivalent post for at least 3 years under State Electricity Board, Semi-Government Organization, Public Sector Undertaking, University, IIT, or NIT
Age Limit
Maximum age: 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications
๐ Deputation Period
- Normal period: Not exceeding 5 years from date of appointment
- Period restricted to the date of superannuation in parent organization
- Government may extend the term up to the date of superannuation
๐ฏ Job Responsibilities
The Director General will be responsible for:
- Initiate, coordinate and execute training programmes in the power sector
- Assess total training needs of the power sector and set up additional training facilities
- Organize training of Engineers and operators on modern lines
- Update curriculum and training methodology with latest technical developments
- Process proposals for progress and expansion of Society's activities
- Administer the affairs of the Society under directions of Governing Council
- Exercise general supervision over various activities under the Society
