📢 What is This Notice?

The Office of Controller General of Accounts (CGA), Ministry of Finance, India, is inviting empanelment of retired officers as Inquiry Officers for conducting departmental inquiries. Applications are open until 20.12.2025 in line with DoPT guidelines.

👤 Who Can Apply?

  • Retired officers (Deputy Secretary/equivalent or above in Central/State/PSU, willing to serve)
  • No penalties/prosecutions in previous service
  • Application must be in the prescribed format (see below)

📄 Application Format (Annexure-I)

  • Name of the officer (in BLOCK letters)
  • Date of retirement from government service
  • Last post held before retirement
  • Details of Ministry/Posts held
  • Previous Inquiry Officer assignments (if any, with details)
  • Retirement type (superannuation/voluntary)
  • Penalties imposed (if any, details mandatory)
  • iGOT Karmayogi training (with proof)
  • Knowledge of PFMS
  • Permanent / present address and contact number

💸 Honorarium & Allowances

Number of Witnesses Honorarium Secretarial Assistance Transport Allowance
More than 10 90% of basic pension ₹40,000 ₹40,000
+ travel as per entitlement & rules
6–10 70% of basic pension ₹30,000
Less than 6 60% of basic pension ₹20,000

⚙️ Key Terms & Selection Process

  • Empanelment is by a 3-member committee (incl. CVO)
  • Each officer: max 8 inquiry cases/year (not more than 4 at a time)
  • Strict impartiality, confidentiality, and compliance to timelines (180 days per inquiry, normally)
  • Performance review after two inquiries submitted
