Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025: An Exciting Opportunity for Young Innovators

Encourage and support students to participate in India’s largest school hackathon — Oct 13–31, 2025.

What Is the Viksit Bharat Buildathon?

The Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 is a nationwide innovation challenge organised by the Department of School Education & Literacy (DoSEL), Ministry of Education, in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission and NITI Aayog. Open to students from Classes 6–12, it promotes creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning aligned with the NEP 2020 vision.

Why Central Government Employees Should Care

  • Mentorship Opportunities: Volunteer as mentors through the Mentor of Change Network or ministry outreach programmes.
  • Community Impact: Support schools in Aspirational Districts, tribal, and remote areas for inclusive participation.
  • Family Engagement: Encourage your children or relatives to form teams of 3–5 students to build critical thinking and tech skills early.

Important Dates & Timeline

  • Sept 23, 2025: Launch by Hon’ble Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan
  • Sept 23 – Oct 11: Team registrations on the national portal
  • Oct 11–12: Brainstorming, mentoring, and idea camps
  • Oct 13: Live nationwide Buildathon via streaming
  • Oct 13–31: Submission of 2–5 minute video entries
  • Nov 1 – Dec 31: Expert evaluation of projects
  • Jan 2026: Announcement and felicitation of winners

How to Participate & Support

  1. Form a Team: 3–5 students per team; no limit per school.
  2. Register: Teachers/mentors register teams at vbb.mic.gov.in.
  3. Choose a Theme: Identify a local problem aligned to one of the four themes.
  4. Brainstorm & Build: Participate in innovation circles and mentorship programmes.
  5. Create a Video: Make a 2–5 minute clip showing the problem, prototype, and impact.
  6. Submit: Upload video entries by October 31, 2025.

Awards & Long-Term Support

Total Prize Pool: ₹1 Crore — including 10 National, 100 State, and 1,000 District winners. Winning teams receive mentorship, corporate support, and resources to scale their innovations.
