CBSE Storytelling Competition 2025-26: Complete Guide for Students and Schools
Overview
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the CBSE Storytelling Competition 2025-26 themed "मेरी कहानी, मेरी जुबानी" (My Story, My Voice). The competition encourages creativity, fluency and expression among students from classes 3 to 12 through video submissions.
Competition Categories and Video Duration

Language Options
Students may participate in Hindi or English. They should choose the language they are most comfortable with.
Topic Selection
The circular includes an extensive list of topics (Annexure I) across subjects. Students should pick one topic from the prescribed list appropriate to their class.

- Class 3-5: "The Awakening of Seed", "Wisdom Tales", "The Mosaic of Marvels"
- Class 6-8: "Clever Thinking Saves the Day", "Unity in Variety", "Balance in Life"
- Class 9-10: "The Kite that Never Flew", "Dawn of a New Age", "Feathers of Resolve"
- Class 11-12: "Mothers: Angels on Earth", "The Social Lens", "The Power of Positive Thinking"
Competition Levels and Timeline
1. School Level Competition
Dates: October 24, 2025 to November 6, 2025
- Schools conduct internal competitions for all categories.
- Each school selects one best entry from each category to go to regional level.
- Participants who submit entries on the portal can download participation certificates online.
2. Regional Level Competition
Dates: November 6, 2025 to November 20, 2025
- Regional competitions are conducted digitally through the CBSE Storytelling Web Portal.
- Each CBSE region will select 10 best entries from each category for national evaluation.
3. National Level Competition
Selected regional entries will be evaluated by a committee of experts. Winners will receive online merit certificates via registered email. The judges' decision is final.
Registration and Submission Process
Registration Window: November 6 — November 20, 2025

Video Uploading Process (Nov 6 — Nov 20, 2025)
- Schools upload students' videos on YouTube and submit the YouTube link on the CBSE portal.
- Parental consent is mandatory — obtain consent letters before uploading videos.
- Login credentials: Use Affiliation Number (username) and LOC/Registration Password (password).
Registration Steps
- Enter school affiliation number and password on the portal.
- Enter shortlisted candidates' details (max 4 — one per category).
- Generate final list with registration numbers of shortlisted candidates.
- Freeze the data and download participation certificates.

- Creativity — originality and innovative approach
- Fluency — natural flow of narration
- Content Delivery — effectiveness of presentation
- Coherence — logical structure
- Expression — vocal modulation and engagement
