The Central Civil Services Cultural Sports Board (CCSCSB) has announced two exclusive adventure sports programs for Central Government employees scheduled for October-November 2025. These programs offer a unique opportunity to explore the magnificent Himalayas while enjoying substantial government financial assistance.
Program Overview
The Department of Personnel and Training has partnered with the Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) Delhi State Branch to organize these programs exclusively for Central Government Civil Employees. Each program is limited to 25 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Program 1: Gangotri-Uttarkashi Adventure Camp
- Duration: 5 Days, 4 Nights
- Dates: October 30 - November 3, 2025
- Price: ₹15,500 per person
- Reporting Point: Rishikesh ISBT at 8:00 AM
Detailed Itinerary
Participants will assemble at Rishikesh ISBT and begin their Himalayan adventure, traveling through Chamba and Dharasu with scenic views of Tehri Lake. Check-in at Uttarkashi, known as the "Kashi of the North," and visit the sacred Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
Day 2 - Local ExplorationVisit the prestigious Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), India's premier mountaineering school, along with other local sightseeing activities.
Day 3 - Gartang Gali TrekExperience the historic Gartang Gali trek, a 2.5 km moderate trail leading to a wooden stairway bridge at 11,000 feet. This ancient route was once part of the Indo-Tibetan Silk Route, offering breathtaking views of Nelong Valley and Bhagirathi Gorge.
Day 4 - Gangotri ExplorationVisit Gangotri Temple, one of the four sacred Char Dham pilgrimage sites at 3,100 meters. Explore Bhagirath Shila, Pandava Gufa, Surya Kund, and the Museum Art Gallery before returning to Uttarkashi.
Day 5 - Return JourneyDeparture to Rishikesh with expected arrival between 4:00-5:00 PM.
Program 2: Kumaon Adventure Camp
- Duration: 5 Days, 4 Nights
- Dates: November 10-14, 2025
- Price: ₹15,500 per person
- Reporting Point: Kathgodam Railway Station at 7:00 AM

Visit the revered Kaichi Dham temple and journey to Jageshwar, surrounded by deodar forests and ancient stone temples.
Day 2 - Jageshwar to Patal BhuvaneshwarExplore the Jageshwar Dham Temple complex with over 100 stone shrines dating back to the 9th century, then travel to Patal Bhuvaneshwar.
Day 3 - Cave ExplorationDiscover the legendary Patal Bhuvaneshwar Cave, believed to be the abode of 33 crore Hindu deities, before moving to Mukteshwar.
Day 4 - Adventure ActivitiesEngage in thrilling outdoor activities including rope activities, nature walks, and hiking while enjoying panoramic views of snow-capped Himalayas.
Day 5 - Return JourneyDeparture back to Kathgodam Railway Station.
Financial Assistance and Benefits
The government provides substantial financial support under the Adventure Sports Scheme with a maximum ceiling of ₹20,000 per person per camp. The assistance is limited to one activity in a two-year block period.
Reimbursement Structure
- Travel Expenses: Up to ₹4,000 as per Leave Travel Concession Rules
- Program Fee Reimbursement:
- Group A employees: 75% reimbursement
- Group B employees: 80% reimbursement
- Group C employees: 90% reimbursement
- Equipment Hiring: Up to ₹2,000 for government agency equipment rental
- Special Provision: Two officials per Ministry/Department awarded for service excellence receive 100% program fee reimbursement.
Leave Benefits
Participants are entitled to Special Casual Leave in accordance with Department of Personnel and Training Office Memoranda dated July 16, 1985, and November 7, 1988.
